| RESUMO: A necessidade de dados para avaliação financeira e econômica de tecnologias agropecuárias e de aperfeiçoamento de procedimentos gerenciais de fazendas, por meio de recursos de informática, levou a Embrapa Cerrados à proposição de um sistema de informações gerenciais para fazendas em parceria com dois produtores familiares e um agrônomo autônomo. Dois estudos de caso em fazendas, na região sul goiana, vêm fundamentando o processo de criação de protótipo do sistema. Utilizando-se do Microsoft Access, foram desenvolvidos os módulos de controle financeiro, de custos, de estoques e de análise de resultados. | Based in concepts and models of “commercialization”, this work has as objective to analyze the transmissions of prices between producer, attacked and retail of the productive chain of the beans in the state of the Paraná, in the period of 1995/ 2003. For this, it was verified as the variable price was transmitted between the segments, esteem itself the edges and the causality direction enters the three sectors of market, that, together with the improvement of the final product, serve as indicating of efficiency in the distribution and commercialization of the product. | The aim of this paper was to analyze the relative importance of the steel industry to the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. The 1990 and 1999 Brazilian input-output matrices and Brazil’s regional accounts - state of Espírito Santo were used to build input-output matrices (1990 and 1999) to this state. Increases in final demand were simulated to analyze the effects on the production of each sector as well as on employment creation in this state. Backward and forward linkage indexes were also computed to twelve sectors with the same purpose. | A kávé kereskedelme a nemzetközi tőzsdéken folyik. Amikor a kínálat meg-haladja a keresletet, túlkínálat van. Ekkor alacsony a kávé ára, a túltermelési válság jelei mutatkoznak: elégetik a kávét. A kistermelők a tönk szélére kerül-nek. Ebben az időszakban a termelők kiirtják, illetve elhanyagolják a kávécser-jéket. A kávéexportáló országok csökkentik a termelést, az exportot is visszafog-ják, a raktárkészlet növekszik. Az elmaradt invesztíció és a rossz időjárási kö-rülmények hatására a kínálat csökken, majd a kereslet meghaladja a kínálatot, ami még ellensúlyozható a raktárkészletek piacra dobásával. | A növénynemesítés fokozatosan romló működési körülményei, a hatékony marketing és a vetőmagkereskedelem hiányosságai, a külföldi fajták nyomása következtében több növényfajban a hazai nemesítés jelentősége csökkent az utóbbi 20 évben, sőt néhány növényfaj nemesítése Magyarországon meg is szűnt. A Kompolton folyó őszi árpa nemesítés eredményesen állt helyt a külföldi fajtaelőállítók nyomásának. Fajtáink kiváló termőképessége mellett, kiemelkedő télállósággal, igen jó szárszilárdsággal, megbízható állóképességgel, összességé-ben kiváló alkalmazkodóképességgel rendelkeznek. | A külföldi tőke érdeklődése a magyar mezőgazdaság iránt 87,2 milliárd forint sajáttőke-résszel 2002-ben érte el a csúcsot a KSH adatai szerint. Forintárfolya-mon számolva 1993 és 2001 között 6,3-szeresére nőtt a jegyzett tőkében a külföl-di tőke összege, euróban számolva 2,6-szeres volt a növekedés. A mezőgazdasági termelésben kettős könyvelést vezető gazdaságoknál a kül-földi tőke a jegyzett tőkéből 7,3 milliárd forintról (1993. évi adat) 2000-re 31,5 milliárd forintra emelkedett, majd 2003-ra 24,5 milliárdra csökkent. | This paper uses laboratory experiments to test the theoretical observations that both the violations of competitive risk-neutral firms and the marginal effectiveness of increased enforcement across firms are independent of differences in their abatement costs and their initial allocations of permits. This conclusion has important implications for enforcing emissions trading programs because it suggests that regulators have no justification for targeting their enforcement effort based on firm-level characteristics. Consistent with the theory, we find that subjects' violations were independent of parametric differences in their abatement costs. | This paper aims to measure the time pattern of multiple and resurgent food scares and their direct and cross-product impacts on consumer response. The Almost Ideal Demand System (AIDS) is augmented by a flexible stochastic framework which has no need for additional explanatory variables such as a media index. Italian aggregate household data on meat demand is used to assess the time-varying impact of a resurgent BSE crisis (1996 and 2000) and the 1999 Dioxin crisis. The impact of the first BSE crisis on preferences seems to be reabsorbed after a few months. The second wave of the scare at the end of 2000 had a much stronger effect on preferences and the positive shift in chicken demand continued to persist after the onset of the crisis. | Bonamiosis was first reported in association with mass mortality of flat oysters, Ostrea edulis, in June 1979 in L'Ile Tudy, Brittany. The disease rapidly spread to all of the oyster farming areas in France but also in other European countries. The French flat oyster production, which already suffered from another protozoan disease, marteiliosis, decreased from 5500 mt in 1979 to less than 2000 mt after 1980. In 2001, about 350 French farms sell 1650 mt of flat oysters. This production mainly relies on natural spat collection which specially occurs in Quiberon bay. | Avaliou-se a distribuição de Lawsonia intracellularis em fezes de suínos, coletadas diretamente no reto, durante a fase de crescimento/terminação, sob condições de campo, e determinou-se o efeito da infecção L. intracellularis no ganho de peso. O estudo epidemiológico longitudinal foi desenvolvido em uma granja de múltiplos sítios em Yucatan, México. A granja possuía três sítios geograficamente isolados com o sistema "todos dentro todos fora". Uma amostra de 56 suínos negativos para a bactéria foi calculada utilizando prevalência esperada de 5%, nível de confiança de 95% e população de 2000 suínos terminados.
